Privacy Policy

1. What Tend Is

Tend is a home and vehicle maintenance tracker built by PerfectCity Corp ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to run the app:

• Account data — your Apple ID (opaque identifier), email address, and display name, provided via Sign In with Apple.
• Asset data — properties and vehicles you add, including addresses, VINs, and maintenance records you enter.
• Usage data — maintenance logs, repair records, fuel fill-ups, warranties, and expenses you create.
• Photos — repair photos and appliance/document scans you choose to upload.
• Device token — your push notification token (if you grant permission), used only to deliver your maintenance reminders.
• Receipt data — if you scan a receipt, the image is sent to our AI service to extract vendor, amount, and date. The image is not stored; only the extracted fields are saved.

We do not collect location in the background, browsing history, or contacts.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, personalize, and improve the Tend app.
• Send you push notifications about upcoming or overdue maintenance (only if you opt in).
• Generate AI-powered maintenance recommendations and seasonal care plans for your assets.
• Process in-app purchases and subscriptions via Apple's payment system.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data to serve third-party advertising.

4. AI Features

Tend uses Anthropic's Claude API to power receipt scanning, appliance identification, maintenance Q&A, and seasonal planning. Data sent to these features is processed by Anthropic subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We do not use your data to train AI models.

5. Data Sharing

We share data only with:

• Cloudflare — our infrastructure provider (Workers, D1 database, R2 storage).
• Anthropic — for AI-powered features described above.
• Apple — for Sign In with Apple authentication and push notifications.
• Stripe — for subscription billing (we do not store card numbers).
• Google — for address autocomplete (Places API) when adding a property.
• NHTSA / CPSC — public APIs for VIN decoding and safety recall data. No personal data is sent.

All vendors are bound by appropriate data processing terms.

6. Household Sharing

If you use the Household Sharing feature, the members you invite can view your shared assets and maintenance records. You control who is invited and can remove members at any time.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account — and all associated data — from the Settings screen in the app. Deletion removes all records from our database within 30 days.

8. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Session tokens are signed JWTs stored in your device's secure Keychain. Database records are stored in Cloudflare D1 with access restricted to authenticated requests.

9. Children

Tend is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. We'll post the new version here with an updated effective date. For material changes, we'll notify you in the app.
